People with depression are not just sad, most of the time they are trying to convince others they are happy

Image
Depression isn’t the saddest person in the room. Quite contrary actually, depression sometimes is the person you would have never expected. Along with trying to convince you they’re happy, they’re trying to convince themselves.  Depression isn’t that melancholy person, you don’t want to be around. Oftentimes, it’s the person everyone loves because of the light they bring to a room is so bright but that’s only because they know darkness. Depression isn’t the person screaming out for help. It’s the silent person dealing with battles they’re still trying to understand themselves. Depression is doing everything you can to hide it. Because there’s nothing glorified about it. There’s nothing beautiful about a bad night as you fall you your knees, in a silent scream, that no one hears because you’re alone and you need to be until you get through it. It’s the sleepless nights as you lay awake at 2 am staring at the ceiling. It’s that time of year, you just get a littl...

11 habits of people with concealed depression

Image
There will be two main types of people reading this blog: those finding themselves better equipped to understand some of the people they love and those who see their own reflections in these habits. Depression   often goes unseen, unrecognized, and undiagnosed. A person with concealed depression is someone who is conditioned to deal with their inner demons in a way that doesn’t make them clearly visible. They may or may not be diagnosed, and this may or may not be something they’ve shared with even their closest of companions. The problem is that the world becomes darkest when we all stop being able to understand each other. We tend to believe that hardship is worn openly upon one’s chest like a battle scar, but many of these wounds do not easily reveal themselves to those that do not take the time to look. 1.     They may intentionally make efforts to appear OK and maybe even seem exponentially happy and upbeat. The idea that those with   dep...

Alcohol Industry Frantically Lobbies Against Legal Weed as Beer Sales Predict $2 Billion Drop

Image
By:Jack Burns Some new cannabis statistics are undoubtedly causing the alcohol industry in the US to shake in their boots. With over half of the country’s states embracing some form of legalized marijuana, with a few states even permitting recreational use, cannabis is poised to affect the alcohol industry at some point. And according to a new study, the beer industry stands to lose billions if marijuana is legalized nationwide. The study states , “Cannabiz Consumer Group’s (C2G) research findings predict that legal marijuana will “canna-balize” 7.1% of revenues from the existing retail beer industry.” Even though the revenue margin may seem small to some, the profit losses are predicted to exceed 2 billion dollars. And while the research attempts to predict what will happen when and if weed is legal nationwide, many alcohol consumers are already making the switch over to marijuana. The study writes, “Twenty-seven percent (27%) of beer drinkers st...

Children with severe epilepsy chosen as first patients to legally receive medicinal cannabis in Victoria

Image
A group of 29 critically ill children have been chosen as the first patients to legally access medicinal cannabis in Victoria. The Andrews Government purchased the cannabidiol liquid from Canada  after changes to federal laws last year. The children all have severe intractable epilepsy and have multiple daily seizures. Victorian Health Minister Jill Hennessy said the children were nominated by paediatric neurologists to receive the treatment and then assessed by a clinical panel. "We know this medicine can dramatically change the quality of life for some of Victoria's very sick kids," she said. "This means families will no longer have to make the heartbreaking choice between breaking the law or watching their kids suffer." Ms Hennessy said the cost to the Government over a 12-month period would be about $1 million. "We know this medicine can dramatically change the quality of life for some of Victoria's very sick kids,...
