Could cannabis cure Alzheimer's? Drug's active ingredient 'helps remove key toxic protein from brain cells'

Image
Active ingredient of cannabis, THC, helps remove amyloid beta from cells Amyloid beta protein is main component of plaques that cause Alzheimer's Plaques are widely considered a hallmark of the common form of dementia But scientists have not known the precise role of amyloid beta or plaques Now believe the protein causes inflammation which kills nerve cells By exposing nerve cells to THC, scientists able to eliminate inflammation Hopes the discovery could result in new treatments to combat the disease  A number of compounds found in cannabis could prove effective as a treatment for Alzheimer's disease, experts suggest. Early findings show tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) - the key mind-altering element of the drug - promote the removal of amyloid beta from the brain. The toxic protein is the main component of plaques that form in the brain - widely considered a signature of the disease, and as such its presence and build-up is indicative of the most...

Fibromyalgia: Pain Management with Cannabis proved superior than Big Pharma Drugs

Image
Being diagnosed with fibromyalgia means that you can say goodbye to any semblance of a normal life. It is a serious debilitating condition characterized by constant muscle pain and fatigue, symptoms which are usually accompanied by headaches, difficulty sleeping, and widespread joint pains. Because of the severity of the condition, people with fibromyalgia also tend to suffer from anxiety and depression.  If you spend most of your days dealing with extreme pain and fatigue, you just won’t have the energy to do things you enjoy. The fatigue can be so debilitating that for many patients still feel tired even after sleeping 10 hours a night. That’s if they’re lucky: many patients suffer so much from fibromyalgia symptoms that falling and staying asleep becomes difficult. The exact cause of fibromyalgia remains unknown, although the medical community agrees that it could be because of several factors including genetics, infection, or physical and emotional trauma. Research Reveals the Amazing Benefits of Marijuana and Hemp: They May Shock You

Image
What if I told you its OK to change your mind based on new information? The knowledge of marijuana’s benefits is on the rise, the  high  rise if you will. Pun intended. More and more research is proving that marijuana isn’t the gateway drug that we are all made to believe it is. In fact, many of the negative things told to us about marijuana have proven to be false according to many recent studies. An increasing number of states in the U.S. are recognizing these new studies and changing history in the process. U.S. states started recognizing marijuana for it’s medicinal purposes, and a few states have now legalized cannabis recreationally. So why are these states legalizing it? What do they know that the rest of the great US of A doesn’t? Or, better yet, why are they willing to take the “risks” associated with legalizing weed? Since legalizing marijuana, Colorado has been faced with a  huge problem …just what will they do with all that extra tax money? Last year lega...

Hemp based CBD Paste Kick Ass Big Pharama to Cures 10 Major Diseases

Image
CBD Paste is by legal terms "Hemp". But really it is our proprietary strain of Cannabis. We say this because the law stipulates that hemp must be under .3% THC which CBD Paste is. This is a major breakthrough in our industry as the common hemp contains around .2% THC and if lucky 2 to 3% of CBD. This means you need a lot of hemp to make a CBD product. There are some complications in concentrating hemp.  The THC also gets concentrated during the process and then chemicals or strong solvents are added. This causes the natural structure to be altered. CBD Paste took 4 years of crossbreeding and testing over 330 cannabis plants to find what now tests at .24% THC and 21.37% CBD. The high strain of CBD means that we don’t have to use chemicals, butane, or CO2 to separate or concentrate our product. Our slogan is  "The whole plant and nothing but the plant, so help me God". What separates CBD Paste products from the rest of the world is we combine the product "Medium ...

Marijuana's Active Ingredient Shown to Inhibit Primary Marker of Alzheimer's

Image
Discovery Marijuana Could Lead to More Effective Treatments Scientists at The Scripps Research Institute have found that the active ingredient in marijuana, tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, inhibits the formation of amyloid plaque, the primary pathological marker for Alzheimer's disease. In fact, the study said, THC is "a considerably superior inhibitor of [amyloid plaque] aggregation" to several currently approved drugs for treating the disease.  The study was published online August 9 in the journal Molecular Pharmaceutics, a publication of the American Chemical Society. According to the new Scripps Research study, which used both computer modeling and biochemical assays, THC inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE), which acts as a "molecular chaperone" to accelerate the formation of amyloid plaque in the brains of Alzheimer victims. Although experts disagree on whether the presence of beta-amyloid plaques in those areas critical to memory and cognition i...
